Looking Back at 2002: New Products, New Customers Keep Lilly Software’s Financial Status Sound
03 March 2003, Hampton, NH (USA) — Focused on selling to vertical markets and increasing its international sales, Lilly Software impressively added over 265 new customers in 2002. The company continued its R&D efforts, resulting in an enhanced portfolio of products, and stayed committed to building its long-term financial performance.
With its exclusive associate sales and service distribution network and its lean operating structure, Lilly Software maintains many competitive advantages. Awards and recognition from industry analysts and leading trade publications such as Software Magazine, Consumer Goods Technology, and MSI reflect the company’s success and its dedication to unsurpassed customer service. As many vendors in the enterprise software market continued to struggle, Lilly kept its license and maintenance revenues steady while growing in other areas.
“Unlike many of our competitors, our company performance did not rest as heavily on service revenues, such as support, training, and consulting,” says Scott Rich, Vice President, Marketing, Lilly Software Associates. “We attribute that income more to our independent associate network. Last year, we gained many new customers and also had existing users add-on to their solutions with key products such as VISUAL CRM.”
Part of Lilly Software’s license revenue came from new worldwide customers. In 2002, the company’s international sales comprised a growing part of the total revenue, climbing 60% over last year’s figures due to expanded product capabilities and its proactive sales force. “We will continue to listen to the market and deliver the highest quality software,” says Rich.
Focused on increasing the depth and breadth of its integrated core product line, VISUAL Enterprise®, Lilly Software’s development team stayed busy. Customers were able to take advantage of enhanced VISUAL CRM features for automated customer service, a new pricing and commissions module called VISUAL Price Book, as well as project management tools in VISUAL Enterprise Project-Based Manufacturing. Smaller manufacturers recognized the extensive benefits of VISUAL Jobshop® (including its advanced QuickBooks integration and availability in Spanish), which resulted in a doubling of the customer base over the last year.
Lilly Software impressed vertical markets with its automotive features in version 6.2.8 and the enhanced development of VISUAL Enterprise Aerospace and Defense. The company also introduced a complete business management strategy with its Throughput Improvement Primer (TIP) training and the production scheduling software, VISUAL DBR. With the new Microsoft .NET version of VISUAL Financials® Global Edition in Beta, as well as a wireless solution and the latest version of VISUAL Enterprise due in early 2003, Lilly Software is listening to customer requests and creating solutions that deliver results.
Lilly Software looks forward to continuing its strong customer relationships throughout 2003. It plans to build on other vertical markets including biomedical, fabricated metals, and capital equipment, and gain additional market share as it introduces more manufacturers and distributors to the benefits of VISUAL products.
