Richard Lilly Discusses A&D and VISUAL Enterprise on Alexander Haig’s World Business Review
10 June 2002, Hampton, NH (USA) —Lilly Software announces that its President and CEO, Richard T. Lilly will be appearing on the World Business Review (WBR) television series hosted by Alexander Haig. Talking about ERP software for the Aerospace and Defense (A&D) industry, Mr. Lilly is joined in a panel discussion by Terry Carlson, founder of T.A. Carlson & Company and by industry expert, Dan Miklovic, Vice President of Research at Gartner G2.
The panel addresses the reasons why the current software market does not sufficiently meet the business needs of the A&D industry. They discuss the inadequacies of the “home grown” systems that many companies operate and the large amount of human capital required to maintain them. The software systems in the market range from expensive ERP applications to feature-lacking, inexpensive solutions. Lilly Software Associates addresses the aforementioned concerns with the specific attributes of its new product, VISUAL Enterprise™ Aerospace & Defense.
VISUAL Enterprise Aerospace & Defense incorporates Lilly Software’s successful production, scheduling, and inventory control system with tools for contract administration, work breakdown structure, project management, project control, and project execution. It allows companies to manage finances, materials, resources, and suppliers, and ensure consistency with data and transactions. Using this system, A&D manufacturers can capture costs from engineering, procurement, production, quality control, logistics, and other activities. It allows them to track multi-year rates and budgets, maintain contracts, and precisely record inventory movements. And, with features such as change order control, configuration management, and compliance reporting, VISUAL Enterprise Aerospace & Defense can help companies significantly improve their project execution and better manage documentation.
“Lilly Software's product line has a strong reputation in many industries, including contract and commercial manufacturers. With VISUAL Enterprise Aerospace & Defense, we've included specific functionality that companies need to manage larger scale projects and programs, tracking costs and project status over multiple years and with multiple supply and demand organizations. By choosing our software and services, A&D manufacturers will discover they can improve throughput and ensure they deliver on time, on budget, and on spec with their contract demands,” said Richard Lilly.
The WBR episode is airing on United States public television stations. Viewers can also watch the show on PBS The Business & Technology Network, United Airlines, or through the video on demand via Yahoo! Broadcast. Additionally, WBR airs on local affiliates of major television networks (ABC, CBS and FOX) throughout the United States
